Naresh Ahuja, MD, FASMBS

Dr. Ahuja performs bariatric and all advanced laparoscopic/robotic gastrointestinal surgeries. He has been helping patients achieve their weight-loss goals since 2008 and has helped several hundred patients to recover their stolen lives. Dr. Ahuja has developed and served as Medical Director of New Life Weight Loss Center at Herrin Hospital. He completed his internship, residency and trauma research fellowship at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Dr. Ahuja subsequently earned his fellowship in Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery at University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery (ABS), fellow with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and fellow with the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

• First to offer sleeve gastrectomy procedure in Southern Illinois
